Infinite Love in the Home of Loving Care
In 1990, You’an Hospital took the lead to build AIDS wards, accepting China’s first AIDS patient. In 1998, it founded the “Home of Loving Care” offering love and care for AIDS patients and HIV patients, building a complete set of personalized medical nursing modes, and binding the treatment, health education, behavior intervention, and intervention of life style together. It has successfully built a new type of medical nursing mode and new type of doctor-patient trust relationship adapting to the situation of China. The Hospital also conducts liangzi changresearch and international cooperation deeply, with delectable achievements gained. So far, the Hospital has accepted more than 1000 AIDS inpatients chongqi and more than 5000 AIDS and HIV outpatients. A consulting hotline was launched to offer psychological support service for 40000 person-times. Many country leaders, international friends and big names visited the Home of Loving Care, showing their respect for the outstanding efforts of the Home. After visiting the Home of Loving Care, Mrs. UN Secretary General Annam and former US President Clinton said: “I have seen for myself that you have offered all of your love to the patients. You set an example for us. Chinese doctors are the best.” The Home of Loving Care was granted the top honor award from UNDP.
