When the course of hepatitis B is more than six months, it is called chronic hepatitis B which shows varying degrees of symptoms, protracted recovery, recurrent attacks. If there are no history of hepatitis B and no recent examination results, sometimes it is very difficult to distinguish between acute hepatitis B and chronic one for patients infected for the first time. Severe hepatitis B: rapid progression, serious symptoms, and even life-threatening if no active rescue is available.
