Virus carrier refers to those hepatitis B surface antigen positive people who show no symptoms or signs and have normal liver function, regardless of whether they are "HBsAg, HBeAg and Anti-HBc positive" or "HBsAg, Anti-HBe and Anti-HBc positive", and whether they are HBV DNA positive or negative. Virus carriers account for the majority of hepatitis B infection. It is worth noting that although some people show no symptoms, or even have normal liver function, they actually have chronic liver inflammation. If not treated, they can eventually develop liver cirrhosis, these people are therefore not true carriers. Thus, if there is no evidence of histological examination of liver samples, it is necessary to conduct long-term, dynamic observation to make accurate diagnosis.
