Beijing Legal Times reported that, with the cold winter just around the corner, people suffering from respiratory infection are on the rise, thus hospital become crowded with patience. Yesterday, Zhao Bing, director of infection office of Guang’anmen Hospital, introduced some methods to reduce the nosocomial infection
Director Zhao stressed that, the so-called nosocomial infection refers to the infection occurred in hospital. The pathogenic bacteria of nosocomial infection are usually drug-resistance bacteria, infection caused by it is serious and hard to be cured, which pose a great threat to patients and hospital.
He reminded that, do not go to hospital unless got sick; when visiting the sick, do not bring your relatives, especially those with low immunity, such as children and the aged etc.; wear gauze mask when go to hospital in winter, do not touch articles in hospital, do not drop round among different departments, reduce the time of stay in hospital, wash hand and change outer wear when you get home.
The bigger a hospital is, the higher infection rate it has. For some slight illnesses like common cold, we can go to community or Grade-I or II hospital. Do not hospitalize if possible, do not take injection if medicine can do, in fact, intravenous injection will increase infection chance of hospital. Do not force doctor to prescribe antibiotic drugs so as to reduce the incidence of drug-resistance.
