Hepatitis institute of Beijing public health bureau was founded in 1985. It covers an area of 1500 square meters, consists of a director office, and laboratories for etiology, immunology, molecular biology, epidemiology, gene diagnosis and cellular biology, as well as animal experiment room and washing room.
Since foundation of the hepatitis institute, it has been focusing on the research on viral hepatitis including prevention from hepatitis A,B,C,D,E and development of their diagnostic methods. So far, it has accomplished more than 20 projects sponsored by the Scientific Research Foundation from State Health Ministry, State Education Ministry, and Beijing Public Health Bureau respectively.
Moreover, the institute has made an effective combination of the research with the training of personnel. At present, it has a workforce of high level specialized knowledge and professional skill, and therefore has become a research and training base of Beijing You’ an Hospital.
